Power supply disrupted in city areas

Power supply under Ulan sub-station area in the capital disrupted for several hours Thursday due to technical glitch.

A high official of the Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) Ltd said the power supply disrupted in the afternoon in Dhanmondi, Eskaton, Khilgaon and Paltan areas due to a fault at the sub station during afternoon on the day.

The power outage caused sufferings to the residents of Eskaton, Paltan and Dhandmondi areas. However, the power supply was restored at Eskaton, Paltan and Dhandmondi areas after the technical fault was repaired partially.

But till the filing of the report at 8:00 pm the power supply was not resumed in some parts of Khilgaon.

However, the DPDC officials said they have been working to repair the technical fault of the sub-station.

 "We are working to restore power supply at Khilgaion as early as possible," a high official of the DPDC told the FE.
