Responding to university teachers' demands, the government has decided to make the Prattay pension scheme effective from July next year.
The decision has come as teachers of all public universities launched a strike on July 1, demanding their exclusion from the scheme.
The new pension scheme was scheduled to come into effect from this July.
A finance ministry release said on Sunday that the employees of all autonomous, self-governed and state-owned enterprises and their subordinate entities who join the service as new employees on or after 01 July 2025 would compulsorily come under the scheme.
