FE Report
The government invites the pre-qualified (PQ) bids from today (Thursday) for the first-ever three elevated expressways aiming at easing the city's deplorable traffic situation.
Officials said the ministry of communication floats the PQ tender for the Dhaka Elevated Expressways project under public-private partnership, giving a 90-day deadline for submitting applications.
Project Director Mohammad Abdul Quadir told the FE that the authority needs few more days to post the PQ tender on its website.
When asked, the PD, however, said the routes for the three elevated expressways will be chosen by the selected bidders.
Officials said though the Strategic Transport Plan, policy guideline for the city's overall traffic system, proposed three routes for elevated expressways, the government is working on the routes on the basis of a pre-study done by a foreign company in 2008.
