President Iajuddin Ahmed Thursday visited the landslide-ravaged Lebu Bagan area in Chittagong on a relief mission, reports UNB.
The President talked to the affected people and asked the authorities concerned to provide them “all kinds of assistance”.
Later, he went to an army-run relief camp at Jahangir Line High School in Chittagong Cantonment area where he distributed relief materials among those who took shelter there.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Chittagong Cantonment Major General Sina Ibne Jamali, Chittagong Divisional Commissioner, and other high civil and military officials were present.
At least 128 people died and many were affected in the catastrophic landslides triggered by torrential rain at an onset of monsoon.
