A moderate earthquake jolted different parts of the country, including Dhaka and north-east part of Sylhet, on Friday morning, reports BSS.
The epicentre of the earthquake was neighbouring Myanmar, said the meteorological Department.
The earthquake, measuring 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale, occurred at 10.32am and the distance of the epicentre was around 482 kilometers north-east from Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)'s seismic centre in the capital.
However, no damage or casualties were reported.
The tremor lasted a few seconds, prompting many people to leave their homes and business establishments and rush to the streets.
