Bangladesh Railway (BR) launches two new train services today aiming to meet the growing demand of passengers.
Communication Minister Syed Abul Hossain is expected to inaugurate the new train from Kamlapur station in city.
The new trains named Chattala Express will ply between Dhaka and Chittagong. The Chittagong-bound train will depart from Kamalapur station at 9:10 am and arrive in Chittagong at 16:40 pm.
Another train will depart from Chittagong station at 9:25 am and reach Dhaka at 16:00 pm.
Both trains will have stoppage at Dhaka Airport, Bhoirabbazar, Brahmanbaria, Comilla, Laksam and Feni stations.
Aktharuzzaman, additional director general of Bangladesh railway (BR), told the FE that the new trains would ensure comfortable and hassle-free travel for passengers.
He also said a good number of initiatives will also be taken for the welfare of the passengers in future and more new trains will be launched soon.
