Opposition leader and Jatiya Party Chief Patron Raushan Ershad has requested Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina not to form any electoral alliance with Jatiya Party's GM Quader, reports UNB.

During her meeting with PM Hasina at her official residence Gonobhaban on Tuesday, Raushan said she suggested making the next national polls more acceptable by ensuring a competitive election across the country through Jatiya Party's participation without any alliance.

In a written speech circulated among the journalists, the JP chief patron said GM Quader illegally captured JP leadership and dropped her, her son and important leaders from party nomination.

She said GM Quader took control over the leadership through staging a coup and removing party's important leaders.

"I have informed everything to PM Sheikh Hasina and requested her to help the people get an acceptable election," the document reads.

Talking to reporters after the meeting with PM Hasina, JP leader Raushan said they discussed the current election issues.

Asked whether the PM said anything about JP's joining excluding her she said, "No time now, what to say?"

Raushan said JP chairman GM Quader did not behave well with them and he was contesting in her son's constituency. "He even did not remember him (Saad)."

She said, "They (JP Chairman) dropped us intentionally. Why should I have support for them?"
