Regulatory commission for formulation of trade policy soon

CHITTAGONG, Sept 25 (UNB): The government will soon form a high-profile regulatory commission to formulate a trade policy to regulate businesses.
This was disclosed at a view-exchange meeting between government officials and leaders of the business community here Tuesday.
Commerce Ministry and Chittagong Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) jointly organised the meeting at the CCCI auditorium.
Presided over by Chittagong divisional commissioner Hossain Jamil, the meeting was attended, among others, by Secretary to the PM's office Kazi M Anwarul Islam, Commerce Secretary Firoz Ahmed, joint forces representative Colonel Rezanur Rahman Khan and business leaders.
Kazi M Anwarul Islam said, "The process of forming the commission will start soon after the return of the Chief Adviser from New York."
Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Secretary Firoz Ahmed underscored the need for an effective role of all business organisations of the country to keep the prices of essentials under control.
