Rejoinder 03-11-2019

The CEGIS has protested a portion of the report, published on October 19, 2019, under the headline "Major dredging projects backfires".
In a rejoinder, the CEGIS said the subtitle of the FE report "consultant's report faulty" is not correct. It has claimed that the CEGIS conducted the hydro-morphological study and accordingly fix the dredging alignment on the basis of pre hydrologic survey as well as environmental and social impact assessment study. The CEGIS has also claimed that it has appointed eight professionals for monitoring the dredging works.
Our reply: the FE has published the news based on the findings of the mid-term evaluation report of the Implementation
Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), a division of the Planning Commission of the government. The finding which was reflected at the FE report was referred from the IMED evaluation report. The IMED report has found a lot of anomalies and irregularities which were published at the FE on October 19.
