Relatives ransack City Hospital as patient dies

A group of angry people ransacked a hospital in the city's Mohammadpur area Friday morning following the death of a patient, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam (30), son of Abdul Majid of Shah Islambagh area in Lalbagh thana.
Family sources said Jahangir sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Mawa bridge on June 24. He was first admitted to a hospital in Munshiganj district. Later on the same day, he was shifted to City Hospital at Satmasjid Road in Mohammadpur in the city.
They also said that Jahangir's health condition deteriorated at about 10:30 am. Then the on-duty doctor pushed injection through his vein and he died instantly.
Relatives of the deceased alleged that Jahangir died due to the wrong treatment by the doctors of the hospital.
Angry relatives of the deceased damaged some furniture and window glasses of the hospital.
