RMG exporters\\\' tax cut to 0.3pc

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has reduced tax rate for readymade garments (RMG) exporters to 0.30 per cent, with effect from Wednesday. The facility will continue until June 30, 2015.
NBR issued a statutory regulatory order (SRO) Wednesday, signed by additional secretary (ex-officio) Syed Aminul Karim.
From now on, knitwear and woven garments, terry towel, carton and garments accessories exporters will be able to enjoy 0.30 per cent tax at source on export earning from the previous 0.80 per cent, according to the SRO. NBR also reduced tax for other exporters, including leather goods, frozen foods and plastic goods, to 0.60 per cent from 0.80 per cent.
