The daily Samakal editor Golam Sarwar passed away at a hospital in Singapore on Monday. He was 75.
He died at the Singapore General Hospital at 9.25pm Bangadesh time.
Veteran journalist of the country Sarwar was suffering from cardiac diseases and lung complications.
Earlier on July 29, Golam Sarwar, also the president of the Editors' Council, was admitted to Labaid hospital in Dhaka following a heart attack.
Later on Friday, he was taken to Singapore General Hospital for better treatment.
His wife Saleha Sarwar, two sons, a son-in-law and a special correspondent of his newspaper were accompanying him in Singapore.
