The chairman of the securities regulator said Sunday that he received a death threat through a letter allegedly sent by an unidentified stock investor.
Ziaul Haque Khandaker showed a copy of a letter in which the apparently aggrieved investor has warned of hiring a killer if he does not take action to stabilise the stock market.
"I haven't filed any general diary with police yet, as I suspect it's the work of a crazy man," he told the FE.
Khandaker who was appointed as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in April, said he also received similar threats through text messages in the past.
