Share prices on DSE bounce back

Share prices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) bounced back Thursday following buying-spree by the investors after one day's of decline.
On the day, most of the share prices under banking and insurance sectors have gone up.
Market operators said investors are more interested to buy shares of banks and insurance due to news that the paid-up capital will have to be enhanced in both banks and insurance companies in the near future.
Moreover, prices of most of the good shares have been over-priced as there is a shortage of supply of good companies on the DSE, market operators said.
As a result, the market has been maintaining a bullish trend over the last few months, DSE officials said.
On Thursday, the last trading session of the week, DSE General Index (DGEN), All Shares Price Index (DSI) and DSE-20 Index (DS20) gained 50.849 points, 43.558 points and 30.041 points to close at 2860.560, 2425.134 and 2182.187 respectively.
The total turnover declined to Tk 2.413 billion from its previous Tk 2.522 billion. The total market capitalisation rose to Tk 687.161 billion from its previous Tk 676.856 billion.
Out of 208 traded issues prices of 151 gained, 41 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
Trust Bank was the turnover leader with traded shares worth Tk 240.037 million followed by BRAC Bank Tk 167.604 million, Summit Power Tk 120.796 million, Desco Tk 95.501 million, Shahjalal Bank Tk 87.765 million, Beximco Pharma 71.519 million, Power Grid 67.539 million, NCC Bank 65.662 million, Southeast Bank Tk 65.513 million and One Bank Tk 62.147 million.
Prices of Trust Bank gained 9.71 per cent to Tk 1036.50, BRAC Bank 2.47 per cent to Tk 1523.50, Summit Power 0.79 per cent to Tk 1656.50, Shahjalal Bank 7.82 per cent 337.75, Beximco Pharma 10.16 per cent to Tk 66.10, NCC Bank 6.56 per cent to Tk 434.25, Southeast Bank 1.73 per cent to Tk 555.75 and 4.24 per cent to Tk 577.25.
Desco remained unchanged at Tk 1323.00. Power Grid declined 0.12 per cent to Tk 621.00.
