Share prices on DSE decline

Share price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined Tuesday, led by banks, halting a two-day market rally.
Market operators said majority of shares lost in trading because of profit-taking by investors.
Share prices of 21 out of 25 banks on the DSE fell on the day. Market operators said the decline in share prices of the banks contributed to the fall of indices by more than one per cent.
On the day, DSE General Index (DGEN), DSE-20 Index (DS20) and All Shares Price Index (DSI) declined 26.334 points, 25.452 points and 21.495 points to close at 2368.817, 1937.389 and 1969.306 respectively.
The total turnover declined to Tk 1.560 billion from Tk 1.930 billion on the previous day. The total market capitalisation also dropped to Tk 553.174 billion from the previous day's Tk 558.181 billion.
Out of 210 traded issues, the prices of 43 gained, 147 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
