Rescue operation underway after a truck crushed an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Kashipur under Barisal Sadar on Thursday, killing at least six people and injuring six others. — Focus Bangla
BARISAL, Apr 16 (UNB): Six people were killed and four others injured in a collision between a truck and a human hauler (locally called Mahindra) in Kashipur area under Barisal Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased included Swapon, 45, driver of the human hauler, and Meherunnisa, 34, and Parul, resident of Rahmatpur village under Babuganj upazila.
Police said the accident had taken place when the goods-laden truck collided with the human hauler in the area on the Dhaka-Barisal highway around 9am, leaving five people dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where another succumbed to his injuries.
