Education Ministry Saturday decided to reschedule the ongoing SSC examinations only for the BDR mutiny victims, reports UNB.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told reporters at his residence that they have taken special arrangements for those examinees who are BDR mutiny victims and would not be able to appear at the March 1 examination and the remaining ones.
He said the examination that is scheduled for March 1 (Mathematics) would be held on March 19, while the other examinations would also be rescheduled, if necessary.
The examinees have been asked to apply within March 10 through their institutional heads or directly to the Controller of Examination to avail of the opportunity.
The ministry also deferred the March 10 examination due to Eid-e-Miladunnabi on the day.
Replying to a question, the minister said all had been able to appear at Wednesday's examination.
"So far, we haven't received any claim that anyone could not sit for the exam. If any examinee claims so, then we'll arrange special arrangement for him or her," Nahid said.
He said the changed schedule of the examinations would soon be published in the news apers. He, however, said the examinations for other examinees across the country would be held as per previous schedule.
Earlier, the minister expressed his deep shock at the death of Army officials and civilians at the BDR headquarters during a two-day mutiny that ended Thursday.
