The syndicate meeting Tuesday decided to nullify the admission of some 76 fake students at various departments and institutes of Dhaka University.
The syndicate, at the same time, declared all the admission papers of the aforesaid fake students as forged and took the decision of cancelling their studentships from the university.
Earlier, the nine-member probe committee, headed by DU Pro Vice Chancellor AFM Yusuf Haider, placed an 8-point recommendation before the syndicate meeting to can cel the admission of the bogus students, as they didn't submit any documents before the committee in favour of their admission despite being issued 'show cause' notices in this regard.
On the other hand, the probe body issued 'show cause' notices to the recently identified 86 fake students May 23 to tender their admission papers to the body within the next 15 days of issuing the notices.
