MINIAPOLIS (USA), June 13: Syria is sliding into a full scale civil war. There have been free flow of lethal weapons. Bashar-al-Asad has been emboldened by help coming from Russia. Putin who is himself facing opposition to his third term has supplied Asad with assault helicopters.
Assault helicopters will assist Asad to escalate crackdown on the opposition. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton harshly rebuked Russia. Human Rights organisation based in Britain said government forces have killed more than 60. The United Nations (UN) said the government is using children as human shield. Turkey and Saudi Arabia are helping the opposition with weapons and money.
A helpless Kofi Annan, special UN and Arab League envoy, continues to put pressure on Asad to respect the ceasefire and stop violence. President Obama and President Putin are scheduled to meet in Mexico. A delegation from the International Criminal Court visited Libya to meet with their colleagues detained there on charges of supplying document to Gaddafi's son. Human Rights groups, the Court in the Hague and Government of Australia have demanded their immediate release.
