Tarique, Mamun default loan stands at Tk 1.63b

Finance Minister AMA Muhith Sunday told parliament that the amount of default loan against BNP senior  vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, his business partner Gias Uddin Al Mamun and his maternal uncle late Sayeed Iskander and their companies stood at Tk 1.63 billion (163.48 crore), reports UNB.
"The cases to realise the money have been pending with the Aurthorin Adalat," he said while responding to a written question.
The Finance Minister said Tarique and the two others took loan for their companies from state-owned Janata Bank and Sonali Bank.
Responding to a starred question from Abdur Rouf (Kusthia-4), Muhith said the default loan in all state-run banks and financial institutions stood at Tk 207. 97 billion (20797.09 crore) as of September 30 last.
