Teletalk consumers to know about time of load-shedding

The Teletalk consumers will be able to know the time and duration of load-shedding of all areas in the capital from today (Friday) by sending a short message service (SMS) to 3372 from their cell phones.
The Dhaka Electric Supply Authority (DESA) signed an agreement Thursday with Teletalk to deliver the information.
The state-owned mobile company will provide the service for 24 hours and each SMS will cost Tk 1.00.
The power subscribers have to type the code or name of their respective areas in the SMS to know about the load-shedding schedule.
Power and energy adviser Tapan Chowdhury attended the programme as chief guest. The Power Secretary Faizul Kabir Khan, DESA Chairman Nazrul Islam, acting Managing Director Of Teletalk Aminul Islam also attended the programme.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Power adviser said: "The power subscribers of the city could prepare their daily plan on the basis of the load shedding schedule."
The government will sign such agreements with other cell phone companies within a short period, he said.
Desa Chairman said that the DESA has taken the initiative as a part of its on-going effort to provide better service to its subscribers.
