Terrorist killed in encounter, mob kills mugger in city

An alleged terrorist was killed in an encounter with RAB and a mugger died after mass beating in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
The terrorist was killed in a shootout between his cohorts and members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Chandrima Model Town in the city's Mohammadpur area early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Chhoto Manik, 24, son of Hossain Ali and resident of Town Hall area in Mohammadpur.
He was wanted in a number of cases, sources said.
Meanwhile, an alleged mugger was killed and two others injured in mass beating in the city's Gandaria area under Sutrapur thana early Wednesday.
Local sources said three muggers intercepted a youth, Russell, near Dhupkhola ground at about 3:30am. They stabbed Russell and tried to snatch money from him.
Hearing Russell's shout for help, locals rushed to the scene and caught the three red handed. The mob gave a good beating to the snatchers, leaving them seriously injured.
