Theft in a city gold showroom

Gold theft took place at the showroom of Crown Diamond and Jewellers at Shimanta Square Shopping Mall in the capital during Friday's Juma prayers.
Sources said an estimated 159 bhoris of gold were stolen during the theft, caught on CCTV footage, which lasted seven minutes and 25 seconds.
Footage shows nine individuals took place in the heist at 1:01 pm. Seven wore masks, while one used a sheet to cover shutters and two others cut the lock.
One person entered the store and the rest moved around nearby shops, keeping other staff occupied.
Minutes later, the person came out with a bag of gold before leaving the scene.
According to the sources, the shop's staffers locked shutters and went for prayers.
The store owner Kazi Akash filed a case after the theft.
An official at Dhanmondi police station said they were scrutinising the CCTV footage to identify heist suspects.
