Reported gunfights in Maheshkhali and Teknaf upazilas in Cox's Bazar district, and Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district between police and 'criminals' early Sunday left a suspected terrorist and two drug peddlers dead, reports UNB.
In Cox's Bazar, the suspected terrorist Prokash, alias Mahmud Karim, son of Yusuf Ali and an accused in several cases, including that of murder and robbery, was killed in a 'gunfight' with police at Shaplar Deba in Maheshkhali.
On information, police conducted a drive in the area early in the morning, said Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station.
In Narayanganj, a suspected drug peddler, Ali Noor, 50, was killed in a reported gunfight with police in the Chilarbag area in Sonargaon upazila.
Meanwhile, police recovered bodies of three suspected robbers from Baishari in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban district on Sunday morning.
