Three get DCCI awards

Three entrepreneurs--AKM Fahim Mashroor of bdjobs.com, Ali Ishtiaq of pyxisnet and Tahera Begum of Arju Iron Store--were given the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Award-2008 Saturday.
Rajandra Mahto, Nepalese minister for commerce and industry, GL Peiris, Minister for Export Development and International Trade, Sri Lanka, and Dr Patricia Frances, executive director of International Trade Centre, handed over crests and cheques worth Tk 50,000 each to the recipients in the closing ceremony of the two-day DCCI golden jubilee celebration programme at a city hotel.
AKM Fahim Mashroor, chief executive officer of bdjobs.com, received the award in the best innovative entrepreneur category, Ali Ishtiaq, chief executive officer of pyxisnet in the category of best Non-resident Bangladeshi entrepreneur and Tahera Begum, proprietor of Arju Iron Store in the category of best women entrepreneur.
The DCCI also handed over crests to family members of its late presidents terming them legends of the chamber.
Terming its past presidents as living legends, the DCCI handed over crests to YA Bawani, Chowdhury Tanveer Ahmed Siddiqui, MA Sattar, Mahbubur Rahman, M Yunus, ATM Waziullah, A Rab Chowdhury, Ali Hossain, ASM Quasem, R Maksud Khan, MH Rahman, Aftabul Islam, Benjeer Ahmed, Matiur Rahman, Fazle R M Hasan, Sayeeful Islam and MA Momen.
DCCI also honoured Nazim Uddin for his life time contribution to the DCCI and Anwar Hossain of Anwar Group as mentor of the chamber.
DCCI President Hossain Khaled handed over the crests.
