Three Khilgaon cops sued over extortion

A case was filed against three policemen of  Khilgaon Police Station in the capital on charge of extortion.  Solaiman Sheikh, a resident of Bhuiyan Para of Khilgaon, filed the case against three policemen-assistant sub-inspector Majnu, constable Robiul and ansar Anjan of the police station-with the court of Dhaka additional chief metropolitan magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh Thursday, reports UNB.
Murshid Hossain, lawyer of the complainant, said the three policemen snatched two mobile phone sets and Tk 6000 from two pickup van drivers, including Solaiman, when they were unloading rice of OMS in front of a house at Meradi Sepahibagh in Khilgaon on May 5.
On May 8, they submitted a written complaint to the Home Secretary and the office of Inspector General of Police (IGP).
As the authorities concerned did not take any action over the extortion by policemen, Solaiman filed the case today, said lawyer Murshid Hossain.
