Three killed in separate Ctg incidents

CHITTTAGONG, June 1: Three persons were killed in separate incidents in the port city and Banskhali upazila of the district today. One person received injury and was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Two of the deceased died in mud-slide while cutting a hill at Pukuria Dakshin Para area under Banskhali, the southwest upazila of Chittagong district. They are Mir Kamal (32), son of Nurul Islam of Charati union under Satkania upazila and Liaquat (27), son of Abdur Rahman of the same union.

OC of Banskhali Police Station Swapan Kumar Majumder said both the persons died on the spot as a big chunk of earth fell on them while cutting the hill. Dead bodies of the two were sent to CMCH morgue and injured Halim Ur Rahman was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

In the city, one Priyankar Debnath was crushed under the wheels of a covered van this afternoon.

Priyankar (27) was riding a motorcycle on his way to workplace. A speeding covered van dashed his motorcycle on Nimtala Port Connecting Road. He was rushed to the CMCH where the attending physicians declared him dead.

Priyankar was the son of Ajit Kumar Debnath of Kadhurkhil village under Boalkhali Police Station. He was working with the IDLC, a financial organisation.
