FE Report
Bodies of three persons, including that of a lawyer, were recovered from Motijheel and Jatrabari areas Tuesday.
Motijheel police said two persons, a staff of Soudia Paribahan and a trader, were found slaughtered at a bus counter of a transport agency in Inner Circular Road at about 7:00am.
The victims were identified as Elias Kanchan (20), a peon, and AKM Sufiyan, owner of a shop at Sundarban Supermarket in Gulistan.
The police could not state the reason behind the double murder at Motijheel.
On information, the police recovered the bodies from inside the bus counter run jointly by S Alam and Soudia Paribahan.
Hanif, a ticket counter clerk, told reporters that he had returned home at 2:00am leaving Elias and two passengers at the counter. But when Hanif returned in the morning he found the main gate locked from inside.
"As nobody responded to my calls, I became suspicious and informed the police," he said.
The police broke open the ticket counter door and recovered the bodies.
A police sub-inspector said they were trying to collect information on the two passengers who were there earlier in the morning as nothing was found stolen from the ticket counter.
In another incident, unknown assailants stabbed a lawyer to death at Doyaganj in the capital Monday night, police said.
Jatrabari police said miscreants knifed Abdullah Al Faruk (40), a counsel and a resident of Shyampur, at Doyaganj level crossing while he was returning home from Munshiganj at about 10:00pm.
