Tickets of Cox's Bazar Express for first 3 days sold

The launch of the Cox's Bazar Express, the new passenger train connecting Dhaka to Cox's Bazar via Chattogram, witnessed a remarkable response as tickets for its first three days (December 1, 2, and 3) were sold out in two hours on Thursday, according to Bangladesh Railway (BR) sources.

Scheduled for its inaugural commercial journey on December 1, the train will ply its route from Dhaka, culminating in Cox's Bazar via Chattogram. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated this route on November 11.

Initially, the railway authorities planned to operate two trains-one originating from Dhaka and another from Chattogram.

Notably, non-stop intercity trains will operate from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar. Departing from Kamalapur station at 10:30 pm, this service will halt only at Dhaka Airport and Chattogram Rail Station before reaching Cox's Bazar by 6:40 am the following morning. The return journey from Cox's Bazar will commence at 1 pm, arriving in Dhaka by 9:10 pm.

Ticket fares for seats on this non-stop intercity train range between Tk 771 and Tk 1725. The train comprises 18 coaches accommodating 779 to 824 seats.

From Chattogram to Cox's Bazar, the train will depart at 7 am daily, equipped with 15 coaches and reaching its destination by 10:20 am. The return journey from Cox's Bazar to Chattogram is scheduled for 7 pm, with ticket prices ranging from 205 to 696 taka.
