Tk 60m EC budget for preparing voter list with photograph in 10 places

The Election Commission (EC) has proposed a budget of around Tk 60 million (6 crore) for the main task of preparing voter list with photograph in Rajshahi city corporation and nine other places of the country in the first phase, reports UNB.
In the first phase, a total of 14,65,627 people would be enrolled in the voter list and issued the national identity cards, EC sources said.
The EC will print five per cent extra forms for collecting voters' particulars, the sources said, adding that each form would carry a serial number.
A total of Tk 5,66,25,760 has been proposed for the task of voter list with photograph in Rajshahi and Khulna city corporations and eight other municipalities that is going to start this month.
