Tofael submits wealth statement

Awami League presidium member Tofael Ahmed, one of the corrupt suspects whose name appeared on the final list, Wednesday submitted his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission claiming that he and his family members have wealth worth about Tk 12.5 million(1.25 crore), reports UNB.
Tofael's lawyer Khandaker Moniruzzaman said that he submitted the wealth statement on his client's behalf to ACC secretary Mokhles ur Rahman.
He said Tofael has a house in Banani, 25 bihgas of ancestral land and a brick-kiln in Bhola. There is also a house in Bhola town in his daughter's name.
Tofael, along with 11 other corruption suspects, was issued notice by the Commission on November 18 directing him to submit his wealth statement within seven working days. He was given another seven working days to comply with the ACC directive following an application seeking time extension.
Meanwhile, AL leader AKM Rahamatullah, also one of the listed corruption suspects, submitted his wealth statement to the Commission Wednesday.
But, the details of his wealth statement were not available.
