The first death anniversary of prominent industrialist Mirza Ali Behrouze Ispahani was held at Pahartali in Chittagong on Tuesday, according to a press release.
Behrouze Ispahani was member of the Board of Trustees of the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Sponsor Director and Managing Director of the International Publications Limited (IPL), the owning company of The Financial Express, and former chairman of M. M. Ispahani Limited and also ex-chairman of Mirza Ahmed Ispahani High School.
He was a Commercially Important Person (CIP) in Bangladesh and played an important role in the country's economic development. He was awarded the 'Enterprise of the Year 2003' accolade by the Bangladesh Business Award.
In remembrance of Mirza Ali Behrouze Ispanani, a commemoration meeting was held at the auditorium of the Mirza Ahmed Ispahani High School at Pahartali in Chittagong. S.M. Mojibur Rahman, headmaster of the school, presided over the programme. After discussion, all present at the meeting prayed for salvation of his departed soul.
