LONDON, Apr 19 (UNB): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday highly appreciated Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her outstanding leadership in handling the Rohingya crisis.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been showing an outstanding leadership in handling the Rohingya refugees. The Commonwealth leaders must support her," he said at the first Executive Session of the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) here.
Justin Trudeau came up with the appreciation when British Prime Minister Theresa May opened the floor for intervention after the presentation of the Commonwealth secretary general's report, said PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
Over 0.7 million forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals fled to Bangladesh following an army crackdown in Rakhine State since August.
