ABU DHABI, UAE, Feb 19 (BSS): Two major UAE companies - Lulu Group International and NMC Group - today expressed their keenness to invest in Bangladesh, particularly in the areas of healthcare, hotel, shopping mall and tourism.
Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group Yusuff Ali and Founder and Chairman of NMC Group Dr B R Shetty expressed their keenness during a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her hotel suite here.
PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters about the Prime Minister's interaction with the two top business leaders of the UAE.
Lulu Group Chairman said Bangladesh has emerged as a very potential area for investment in the tourism and hyper shopping mall and sought land in Dhaka or adjacent areas.
The group has a plan to construct a shopping mall which would create opportunities for about 5,000 people and have a convention centre and car parking facilities for 3,000 vehicles.
Yusuff Ali highlighted some of the projects implemented by the Lulu Group in different countries.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh is ready to welcome foreign investments for the country's development.
She assured them of allocating necessary land and urged them to visit Bangladesh to have firsthand experience for implementing their business plan.
The Prime Minister urged the Lulu Group chairman to set up food processing industries and invest in the special economic zone.
