Two more Quota Movement coordinators were taken into custody of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday.
They are Sargis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah.
DB's Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Junaed Alam Sarkar confirmed it to a local vernacular daily. The two were taken into the custody in the evening to ensure their personal security and gather information about the recent incidents, he said.
Earlier on Friday the three movement coordinators, Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud and Abu Baker Majumder, were picked up by some plainclothes people.
Three coordinators of the Students Against Discrimination Movement have been taken into custody to determine who want to attack them, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Saturday.
"One of the detained coordinators phoned his father and said, 'I am going into hiding.
Don't tell anyone about where I am'. When we found this news on social media, we took them into safe custody," Mr Asaduzzaman told reporters at the office of the Narayanganj Superintendent of Police.
"We are interrogating them about who intend to attack them. We will decide about them after the interrogation."
Chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Harunor Rashid confirmed on Saturday that the three coordinators were in their safe custody.
