UK "deeply concerned" by violence in Bangladesh

Expressing deep concern over the current situation, the United Kingdom has urged all sides in Bangladesh to immediately end the violence and find a peaceful way forward, reports UNB.

"The UK government is deeply concerned by the violence following protests in Bangladesh," said the British High Commission in Dhaka in a brief statement shared through mobile phone SMS on Saturday.

The UK supports fundamental freedom and respect for human rights, including the right to protest and peaceful assembly.
