UK renews support for caretaker govt

Britain has renewed its support for the Fakhruddin Ahmed-led caretaker government, reports bdnews24.com.
"UK reiterates its continued support to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh", Lord Marc Malloch-Brown, the UK minister for Asia, Africa and the United Nations, told foreign adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury Thursday, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh High Commission in London.
Iftekhar met Lord Malloch-Brown before leaving London for Dhaka at the end of a three-day official tour of Russia.
The release quoted Malloch as terming the talks with Iftekhar 'constructive'.
Iftekhar also briefed the British minister on the plans and programmes of the caretaker government.
On September 01, the foreign adviser left the city for Moscow via Dubai for holding bilateral talks with the high officials of the Russian government.
