UK welcomes roadmap for polls

The United Kingdom (UK) welcomed the announcement of a 'more detailed" poll roadmap as a demonstration of commitment to the goal of holding general election in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
In an instant reaction to the roadmap spelt out Sunday by the EC, a spokesperson for the British High Commission here said "credible elections that can sustain democracy in Bangladesh in the longer term" are essential for this country.
"The UK stands ready to offer practical support," said the spokesperson.
