UN chief renews call for solution to political crisis

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has renewed his appeal to all political leaders for a peaceful solution to the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh.

Responding to a query at the UN daily briefing on Wednesday, Spokesman for the UN Secretary General Stéphane Dujarric said, "Mr. Ban Ki-moon remains very concerned over the heightened tensions and continuing violence in Bangladesh and renewed his appeal to all political leaders for a peaceful resolution of the crisis."

In another query, he also said the UN was obviously aware of the arrest warrant issued against the BNP chairperson.
