November 29, 2007 00:00:00

As part of reconstruction plans, the US has a plan under a longer-term engagement to construct more cyclone centres in the coastal areas of Bangladesh that are routinely ravaged by natural disaster, reports UNB.
US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Denise Rollins said this to the reporters.
She was speaking to them while visiting Zia International Airport, where a fresh shipment of the US relief materials arrived and the goods were being readied to be transported to Barisal. Food and Disaster Management Secretary Dr Ayub Miah and US Charge d' Affaires Geeta Pasi were also present on the occasion.
Rollins said, "We are in the process of developing a plan of reconstruction. I can't give you any figures on that. But, at the moment, obviously we know that the country needs more shelters."
