Uzbekistan President, UNCTAD SG greet Hasina

Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov and UNCTAD Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi on Wednesday congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her assumption of office of Bangladesh Prime Minister for the third time, reports UNB.

In a message sent to Bangladesh Prime Minister, Karimov said traditional friendship and bonds between the two friendly countries will continue to strengthen in the coming days for the benefit of the two countries, according to a Foreign Ministry media release.  In separate message, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi congratulated Bangladesh Prime Minister.

He appreciated the strong support extended to the organisation by the Bangladesh government and the efforts of the country to ensure prosperity for all through sustainable development and inclusive growth.

The Secretary General reiterated Unctad's readiness to continue its mutually beneficial cooperation with the Bangladesh government.
