Warehouse catches fire in city

A massive fire broke out at an electronics warehouse at Bijoynagar in the city on Wednesday evening.

Some 13 fire-fighting units fought for nearly two hours and were able to douse the flame at Hamim Electronics at around 8:27 pm.

Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Dinmoni Sharma told the media on the spot that the fire originated at 6:30 pm.

A total of 110 fire-fighters of 13 units brought it under control, and there was no report of casualties.

He added that they would be able to ascertain the cause of the fire and the extent of damage after completing investigation.
