Web portal to guide investors launched

A web portal, launched by a young woman entrepreneur, to reduce unemployment has gained enormous responses among both local and foreign entrepreneurs across the country.

The first-of-its-kind portal www.luckyideabd.com is providing technical and advocacy support to the people who are sitting with idle money due to want of business know-how.

Farhana Lucky, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organisation, launched the services last year with the assistance of an eight-member young research team.

Anyone can get business idea free-of-cost through the portal, unique in the whole world.

"I have found many people, ranging from young group, students or housewives, have idle money but hesitant to invest somewhere due to lack of knowledge on risk and potentiality of business," Ms Lucky said.

The research team will provide them all-out support to invest and manufacture products, she said.

There are a total of 350 business ideas available on the site. Investors will have to choose their suitable one from there.

"It is a non-profit initiative. People can come to us for support or start businesses from the guidelines on the site," Lucky said.

There are guidelines ranging from how to farm vegetables on a veranda of a flat, how to make pearl from scale of fish and how to produce power from leaves of natural herbs.

There are investment facilities ranging from Tk 5,000 to Tk 5.0 billion so that middle income group of people can draw their future plan.

Interested people from more than 50 countries in the world have visited the site providing their valuable suggestions. They welcome the initiative of Bangladesh with request of translation in different languages, Ms Lucky said.

The webpage carries a total of 350 business ideas in Bangla and English languages. The business ideas cover the fields of agriculture, cottage industry, education, information technology (IT), media, fashion, engineering, printing etc.                    

The world's first ever business idea also carries the clear conception of profit with amount of investment, production of goods and information of its marketing process.
