KHULNA, 13 Sept (UNB): The body of a 65-year-old woman has been recovered from her house in Rupsha upazila of Khulna.
Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Rupsha thana, confirmed the matter.
The dead is Gulfara Nahar, wife of Shahidul Islam. She had been living alone in her house in Naihati village. Her son, Raihan, currently works in Dhaka as an NBR inspector, said locals.
Housemaid Shahinur Begum arrived on Thursday morning and called out to her. However, when she found the gate open and no sound coming from inside, she became suspicious. She called the neighbours, and when they entered the house, they found Nahar's body lying on the floor.
Criminals broke into the house through a window in the night, tied the victim's hands and feet, and struck her on the head.
