Worker killed at GPH Ispat factory

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 01: One worker was killed in an accident at GPH Ispat factory at Sitakunda in Chattogram at around 8 pm on (Friday).

The victim was identified as Md Fallat (35).

Sources said, Md Fallat was killed when an iron sheet used for preparing rods felt on him at GPH Ispat Factory at Sitakunda, Chittogrma.

Chittagong Industrial Police SP Mohammad Solaiman confirmed that the incident took place at the GPH steel factory located in Banshbaria Magpukur area of Sitakunda on Friday.

He said, while working at GPH Ispat Rolling Mills at 8 pm suddenly, Md Fallat was seriously injured by an iron. When he was rescued and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead at 8:30 pm. If there is a case in this regard, action will be taken after investigation.

Abdullah Al Saqib Mubarrat, Deputy Inspector General of Chittagong Factory and Establishment Inspection Department, said HR Manager of GPH Ispat Hasan Riyad sent us a message that a worker died of injuries. Our inspector will visit the factory Then I can tell. Moreover, our team will go there tomorrow Saturday.
