Youth's leg severed in AC blast

CHATTOGRAM, July 05: A youth's leg was severed while another youth wounded critically in an air conditioner (AC) explosion in KBH Plaza in the port city on Friday noon.

The victims are identified as Mohammed Gafur, 35, and Touhidul Alam, 39, an employee of the Max Construction.

Relatives said Touhidul Alam was wounded critically and his leg was cut off in the explosion. His condition was "critical".

Sub-inspector Md Rezaul Karim, duty officer of Panchlaish police station, said, "Two people were wounded in the AC explosion. We sent them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH)."

Touhidul Alam, one of the victims, had his leg severed in the blast. Later, his family took him to Evercare Hospital.

Mohammed Gafur was undergoing treatment in CMCH, the police officer added.
