Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh in first ODI

Sikandar Raza and Innocent Kaia struck brilliant centuries to help Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the first ODI at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe on Friday.

The pair added 192 runs for the fourth wicket -- breaking a 25-year old partnership record and becoming the new best for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh.

Raza and Kaia also became only the second Zimbabwean duo to score centuries in the same ODI innings.

Earlier sent in to bat first, Tigers opener Liton Das hit 81 and Anamul Haque 73 to guide Bangladesh to 303-2.

Tamim Iqbal and Liton added 119 runs in the opening stand. The Tigers captain, who scored 62 off 88 balls, fell to Sikandar Raza.

Anamul, who was struggling to bring his form in the domestic arena to international cricket, finally hit a fifty. He made 73 off 63 balls with six fours and three sixes.

After Liton retired hurt, Mushfiqur Rahim, who skipped the previous series against the West Indies for personal reasons, came to the wicket and scored 52 off 49 balls. Mahmudullah Riyad remained unbeaten on 20 off 12 balls.

Bangladesh fielded three pacers: Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman.
