1 held with 5 gold bars at Ctg airport

Customs officials seized five gold bars weighing around 600 grams at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and detained a man in this connection on Sunday, report agencies.

The arrestee was identified as Nurul Azim, 30, a resident of Raozan upazila of Chittagong district.

Shahdat Zamil, assistant commissioner of airport customs, said a flight of Air Arabia from Sharjah landed at the airport around 9:30am.

Customs officials recovered the five gold bars from a bag of Nurul while scanning his baggage at the airport.

Nurul Azim aroused suspicion leading detectives to scan his luggage at 9am Sunday, said Shahadat Jamil.
