10 cattle markets for Eid in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 03: Apart from three permanent cattle markets, seven temporary cattle markets will sit in the port city ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The district administration has given permission to the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) to set up seven temporary cattle markets. Last year, 12 cattle markets sat in the city.

The markets for sacrificial animals are set up in the city under the CCC management from 1st to 10th Zilhaj every year, depending on the sighting of the moon. This year, cattle markets are scheduled to sit from June 08.

Sources said the CCC applied for nine temporary cattle markets in Chattogram on April 9. The district administration has given permission for seven temporary cattle markets.

On May 15, the district administration allowed the CCC to set up seven cattle markets on 14 conditions.

The seven temporary cattle markets are East Hussain Ahamed Para TSP Ground, Karnaphuli ground at ward number 16, TK Group Ground in Butter Fly Park area, Karnaphuli Bridge side area, Wajedia Point area at Panchlaish, CDA Sands Ground at Outer Ring Road in the port city and Boro Pole Market.
