10 extortionists held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 15: The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 persons in connection with their involvement in extorting money from cargo trucks, passenger buses, microbuses, and CNG auto-rickshaws in Chattogram.

They were arrested in separate raids by the RAB-7 team in Bohaddarhat in the city area and Bibirhat under Fatikchari upazila in the district on Tuesday and Wednesday.

During the initial interrogation, it was revealed that they had been extorting large sums of money by using fake receipts or the names of different persons/organisations.
